Terms of Service

Last updated: this page is a first working draft, pending legal review before final adoption.

1. What MyJalsa is

MyJalsa connects families in Egypt with independent therapists and specialists — ABA/behavior therapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, shadow teaching, academic therapy, and sensory integration. MyJalsa does not itself provide therapy; it is where a family finds a verified professional, books a session, and manages that relationship in one place.

2. Accounts

A parent is responsible for the accuracy of their own information and any child profile they add. A therapist is responsible for the accuracy of their credentials and profile. When MyJalsa marks a therapist's profile as verified, that means their submitted documents were reviewed — it is not a guarantee of any treatment outcome.

3. Booking and payment

A booking is requested, then accepted by the therapist, then paid — nothing is charged while a request is pending. A "Booking protection" fee is added on top of the session price shown; the therapist receives the full price they set. Payment is held until the family confirms the session took place, and is then released to the therapist.

If plans change
  • Cancel more than 24 hours before: you get everything back.
  • Cancel within 24 hours: 50% comes back to you, the rest goes to the therapist for the time they held.
  • Do not come and do not cancel: nothing comes back.
  • If the therapist cancels: you get everything back, our fee included.
  • If the therapist does not come: report it and your money stays held, not paid out. They have 48 hours to answer. If they do not, you are refunded in full.
  • Either of you can be up to 15 minutes late before it counts as missed.

4. Expected conduct

Communication between a family and a therapist happens through MyJalsa. Personal contact details (such as a phone number) may not be shared in a public profile — this protects the payment guarantee for both sides and reduces the risk of fraud. Any concern about conduct can be reported from inside the conversation, and reports are reviewed by MyJalsa.

5. Content and confidentiality

Conversations and documents shared between a family and a therapist are confidential. MyJalsa does not read them except when investigating a report that was actually filed, and every such access is logged. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

6. Limitation of liability

MyJalsa is a booking and communication platform, not a provider of therapy. Each therapist is independently responsible for the quality and suitability of the care they provide. MyJalsa is not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric care — in an emergency, contact emergency services directly.

7. Ending an account

Any user may close their account at any time. MyJalsa may suspend or end an account that violates these terms, particularly in cases of fraud or anything that puts a child's safety at risk.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.

9. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Questions: support@myjalsa.com
